Q : Why do some of the bottles not seem full (ie the white glass travel bottles, the travel droppers)?
A : This is a great Q! Both of the bottles mentioned are actually bigger than the amount in them! As you know we work hard to use upcycled containers and sometimes the ones we choose are a little bigger than the product volume. The white glass travel bottles are actually 40ml size yet the product in them (and what you are charged for) is just 30ml - and the travel droppers are 20ml yet the product in them is 15ml. We stay true to the standard vol of product you are used to purchasing in the market (15ml, 30ml, 60ml etc).
Also good for you to know: all containers have a 'breathing space" added into the size to allow a gap - this is a precaution for shipping and holding formulas in all types of conditions as formulas may expand naturally.
Q : Why the change with packaging?
A : Our plan has been to get the formulas into your hands to try and enjoy in small sizes at a small price - for the trail period (BETA if you like) to ensure you were in love with the products as much as we are (of course we are biased). Now that your feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, we have launched our official retail line - remaining true to our recycle, upcycle and precycle mission.
You can still purchase the trial sizes as we now have them available in our travel pouchette. You will be thrilled to see some of our new retail items are much larger!
Q : What about special offers or deals? Will you still have them?
A : We will be doing some great special offers. We will have another great Holiday Box this year and are looking to other special occasions like Valentine's Day,
Mothers Day, and more......
Why do you only ship on a Friday?
A : This is a new change that we decided on to ensure a more regular movement of orders. Your order will be prepped and sent to the shipping dept. by Sunday PM, that way your order is on the road, 1st thing Monday morning. As we ship flat rate, we know your order should reach you by Wed or Thurs that very week (ie no week-end delays). Also historically we see a lot of you order over the week-end so we want to capture those orders too!
Q: Can I get my order expedited?
A : Yes! Just make sure you add that information in the Notes box on the shopping cart checkout, please also let us know which type of shipping you want - ie. 2 day Fedex, overnight UPS etc) and you will be charged accordingly.

A : Our beautifully lighter and more effective formulas are a result of not adding any of the un-needed bulking creams or emulsions to increase the volume of the products. Our products only contain the the carefully selected ingredients to present you the purest critical product for your skin.
Q : Why don't your products smell all fruity and perfumy like many organic brands?
A : We do not add any uneccessary fragrances, oils or perfumes. Our beautifully clean products have their own light and crisp natural fragrances, giving your skin direct pure product.
Q : Why aren't your products in fancy-schmancy expensive bottles and jars, with lots of labels?
A : We focus on the ingredients and formula. Our goal is to continue our eco-honorable mission, recycled paper, less plastic, pre-cycled containers, recycled glass, and sustainable practices. We choose to use our resources for simple elegant packaging, and that means best product for you without the heavy cost of expensive custom packaging.
Q : Why aren't your products 100% organic?
A : We strive to make sure our products contain maximum amounts of USDA certified grown organic ingredients, and this requires a choice of over 160 certified organic active ingredients selected in the USA. Unlike food, that is consumed within days or hours, natural and organic skincare products need to be made to survive somewhat longer without growing harmful moulds and bacteria. We agree with many of the key opinion leaders in the skincare industry that it is essential that an organic skincare product contains a preservative system to guarantee its safety. Preservatives natural skincare products use include; Airtight packaging that prevents bacteria getting into the product can help to preserve it. Herbs & Essential Oils Certain herbs and essential oils possess anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which, in certain preparations, can preserve the product. Plant Alcohol Not to be confused with the ethyl alcohol (derived from petroleum) found in conventional skincare, plant alcohol may be used in natural preparations to preserve the product.Vitamin E & Plant Oils Balms and oils are naturally self preserving and need little or no additional preservative. Safe semi synthetic preservative systems Safe use of paraben free, semi synthetic preservative systems. A commonly used preservative is phenoxyethanol which is approved for use in organic beauty products by the Soil Association or benzyl alcohol which is approved by the Soil Association and Ecocert and commonly found in French organic and natural skincare products. Organic is best but safety is of the utmost importance.
Q : Why isn't clinical organics a certified company yet?
A : We are a small but growing company and certification is a very involved and hugely expensive process which at the moment is on our "to do when we are bigger" list. We do however, as mentioned above, work with USDA certified organic actives (over 160 !) grown by eco-diligent certified farmers in the USA. We remain faithful to our eco-honorable and purist model.

A: We are growing at a steady rate thanks to all our lovely clients, and our goal is to make sure you get as fresh a product as possible - so we do not formulate humongous batches of our
products. Now that we are in our much bigger new HQ in Oregon you will most likely get your order faster than ever before - possibly even within a week, depending on the amount of orders
ready to be processed. We want to get your goodies to you as fast as possible, we promise!

A: Our formulas have a 'shelf-life' of 12-18 months. We recommend you store them is a cool dry place, especially in extreme heat or cold seasons. Always use a cotton tip (and not your little fingers) to get the product out if you receive a pot of formula or always wipe the top of the bottle to keep all the product clean.

A: The preservant we use to protect the gel from bacteria, yeasts and moulds, is a self sterilizing skin-friendly pH-stable system that combines a widely used, globally-accepted preservative (including Japan), phenoxyethanol, with a proven preservative-enhancer, ethylhexylglycerin, instead of controversial parabens.

Phenoxyethanol is an organic bactericide compound considered one of the least irritating cosmetic preservers with none of the controversial side effects of parabens. It provides a broad spectrum of anti-microbial activity against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, as well as yeasts and moulds. It is soluble and its activity is effective for our protein-based product and it does not react with the copper in the biological substance.
Ethylhexylglycerin reduces interfacial tension on the cell walls of micro-organisms, promoting their more rapid destruction and a broader spectrum activity.Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin are synthetic ingredients derived from plants, and as many other synthetic sources they start as natural because everything comes from our environment; nothing is created via alchemy.
We have yet to see any cosmetic that is "all" natural. Some synthetic ingredients are awesome for your skin, and regardless of the protestations of cosmetics companies to the contrary, every cosmetics product in the world contains its share of synthetic ingredients.
Q: You recommend using a sunscreen so much, yet you do not sell one, why?
A: As you all know the FDA is finally bringing in some pretty hefty requirements for the new (and current) marketing of sunscreens, and we applaud that - it is long overdue. We have been working hard on being able to provide you with an amazing sunscreen, so stay tuned!

A : The base clay used in the formula is now arriving (from the supplier) more rich and stronger in both color and in natural fragrance. To give it a more desirable, lighter, creamier and more fragrant composition of the original clayolin we have added FBA Natural Green Tea, and organic moisturizer.
